Beginning early this year, google made some changes to their search ranking,   the reason cited is that google wanted to provide more relevant results, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, in plain English, almost 12% of google search results are useless or of low quality. Google started this change almost one year ago, maybe that’s why some of my ranks dropped out of first 10 pages, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.

So what exactly is linking campaign the old way? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this,  they add your links to those linking websites without context, the content on those sites will never be updated, almost all of them are garbage, we call these sites link spamming sites. The latest google update will definitely downgrade most if not all of these sites, any links on them will be affected too. 

Maybe a few examples will make it clear. When I got into online marketing long time ago, I started promote the keyword, Axle Strap, of course with old way of link building, a lot of sites I used had too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. This strategy worked in the beginning, finally the rank improved a lot, this was the case until google made the change. Something opposite happened to this keyword, chain pullers, we promoted this keyword with articles and blog posts, with very few plain links, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? Actually this is all about content, so if you create great content, you will attract readers as well as search engines. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, take a look at this blog, best smartphone 2011 , I build it as a hobby and kept adding good or mediocre content, you probably think this site won’t rank a all, much to my surprise that the site actually ranks for quite a few keywords. As far as SEO concerned, quality blog marketing is much better than plain link building. If you can build a group of your own blogs, for instance Traffic Cone, then it will be easier to do article marketing.

At the end of day all you need to do is to create quality content, get people to enjoy and share your stuff, promote your business with the content, as long as you don’t stop doing this, you will win over customers and search engines. Persistence and patience are the keys to success, nothing will automatically improve overnight, it doesn’t matter you’re doing SEO or advertising your business, keep doing what we have to do till the end of world. When publisinh articles, I prefer ezine, a new article will be indexed and cached in less than an hour, popular blogs will get your post indexed as soon as you post it, I believe you should see for yourself,such as Roadside Emergency Kit, quality content, nice presentation, indexed by google, this article serves it’s purpose well.

Last but not least, the social media is the must have channel for your marketing effort. One thing you can do for your blogs is to install twitter tools, sign up for a twitter account and create a new application, configure your twitter tools prpperly, then every new post on your blog will show up in your twitter page, it’s simple and elegant, no one should miss this tool out.

In memory of Lis’ Kristof
For those who have asked about charitable donations in her memory, Lis’ was very concerned with canine health and believed in the AKC Canine Health Foundation, http://www.akcchf.org/
She was also a supporter of and recipient from Take the Lead, http://www.takethelead.org/ Take the Lead provides direct services, support and care for people in the sport of purebred dogs who suffer the devastation of life-threatening and terminal illnesses.

On the evening of May 6,2008, Lis’ Kristof left this “wonderful earth”. Surrounded by her mother, dearest friends, and beloved chinese cresteds; she departed in peace. Thank you to everyone who has commented on this video. She was uplifted by your positive comments and it continues to give solace to those of us who will miss her dearly.

Update: May 6, 2008
Lis’ is having more bad days than good now & grows weaker every day, but everything is being done to make her as comfortable as possible. She’s home & her 2 Chinese Cresteds are keeping vigil by her side. Diva, especially, is very protective of her & only leaves her for potty breaks & meals. Lis’s mom, dogs & friends are all caring for her.

Lis’ is at peace and is ready to be done with this part of her journey. Please pray for a quick & peaceful release.

With the help of a friend, Lis’ was able to make it out to watch a USDAA trial from the car. She continues to live life to the fullest possible, each day, one at a time. Congratulations, to Terry & Wicket (Lis’ rescue border collie) for getting their ADCH-Bronze and Lifetime Achievement Award – Bronze this weekend.

Lis’ mum arrived safely from New Zealand over the weekend. We are cherishing one day at a time. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. From Lis’, her friends and family.

It is with great emotion that I made this video to celebrate a great team and an outstanding competitor. It is for Lis’ friends, who I know are going to deseperately miss seeing this team out on the agility field together. I have trained with; traveled with; argued with; cried with; laughed with; and learned from Lis’ since the day I started in agility. Now I will go on to begin again with a new pup and hopefully I will take with me all the life lessons I’ve learned from her.

When it comes search engines, google is still the king, and they are doing everything they can to maintain their lead,   in the hope of furnishing it’s search users better results, according to their official blog, this change impacts 11.8% organic search results, in another word, google thinks about 12% of it’s search results are really bad and need to manipulated. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it’s safe to say that old way of link building is doomed.

Now let’s look at another keyword, chain pullers, we put the link in relevant context, almost no plain links, the rank for this keyword is making me real happy. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? Actually this is all about content, when you create unique and quality content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, for instance let’s examine this one, sherri hill dresses , I build it as a hobby and kept adding good or mediocre content, it’s no way this site will rank, right?, actually, no, in actuality my site is ranking high for some nice search phrases. Now you can see, quality blog marketing is much better than plain link building. Say you’re building your own bogging network, something like Wheel Tie Down, you will have the power to push any sites up in search engines.

Bottom line is that you should create great content, publish and share with people, and put your keywords in the context you’re good to go, your effort will reward you handsomely in the end. The virtues, persistence and patience, are essential for your success, you shouldn’t expect things to improve overnight, it doesn’t matter you’re doing SEO or advertising your business, let’s keep building and maintaining our blogs until end of the day. Ezine is one of the best article directories out there, google will index a new article on ezine promptly, popular blogs will get your post indexed as soon as you post it, let look at some aticles or posts which are published and indexed, like this Chain Hoists , nice writing, good content, published on popular site, all these points make it perfect for SEO.

By the way, we have hot social media now, no one can afford to not using them. The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, get a twitter account and API keys, link your blog to twitter, then every new post on your blog will show up in your twitter page, it’s simple and elegant, no one should miss this tool out.

This project is pretty much the survival paracord bracelet, but I’m using different types of cord and it’s for a dog leash.

Here I break down the project by learning 3 basic camping knots: constrictor, cow hitch & figure 8.

The only issue with this project is where to place the hook, at the start or at the end.

Also, a point to consider is that if you have a dog that pulls, you may want to finish the leash so that if there is slippage, you will have something to stop it. That is the reason why I chose to finish the project with simple figure 8 knots. I chose this instead of other fancy knots.

So to produce a 3.5 foot leash, you will need as shown in this video: 4 m of 2.75mm cord, 12m of 2mm cord.
